This five-day course provides students with the knowledge and skills to analyze computer systems and networks and implement various security procedures and services to guard against security risks and respond to security breaches.
This course addresses topics covered in the CompTIA Security+ exam.

Prerequisites:
Prior to attending this class, students should have the following experience:
- CompTIA A+ and Network+ certifications, or equivalent knowledge and skills
- Six months to one year experience in system and network administration
- An understanding of basic TCP/IP subnetting and configuration
Behavioral Objectives:
Upon successful completion of this course, students should be able to:
- Identify fundamental computer security concepts.
- Identify a variety of security threats.
- Implement practices to protect internal systems and services, as well as internet devices and services.
- Implement practices to secure network communications.
- Describe the fundamental concepts of a public key infrastructure (PKI).
- Understand the basic principles of certificate utilization.
- Define appropriate organizational security policies.
- Monitor the security infrastructure.
