Overview:
This five-day course focuses on providing students the skills and knowledge to administer the Solaris Operating System. Students will learn how to administer Solaris as either a stand-alone or a networked machine.

Prerequisites:
Prior to attending this class, students should have the following experience:

• Completion of the Introduction to UNIX course or equivalent experience

Objectives:
Upon successful completion of this course, students should be able to:

• Discuss basic System Administration concepts.
• Install Solaris, additional software and patches.
• administer user and group accounts including initialization files.
• Create and access local and network file systems.
• Control system and user processes.
• Create shell scripts to automate tasks.
